Get To Know Doral

The City of Doral in Florida has a rich history that has transformed it from a swampy area to an industrial center and now a thriving hometown. Real estate pioneers, Doris and Alfred Kaskel, purchased 2,400 acres of land in the late 1950s for the purpose of building a golf course and hotel. They opened the Doral Hotel and Country Club in 1962, which became a popular destination and was eventually bought by Donald Trump in 2012. The area saw growth in the 1980s with the development of Doral Estates and Doral Park, and by the 1990s, residents were pushing for incorporation due to high taxes and a desire for better services. In 2003, 85% of voters supported incorporation, and the City of Doral was officially established. With its own local government and more services for their tax dollars, Doral has continued to grow and thrive in the present day.
